The Contemporary Art Dealers Association Nippon (CADAN) is a non-profit organization of leading galleries in contemporary art in Japan, founded in 2015. CADAN was established for the purpose of developing contemporary art in Japan, with the aims to promote and spread contemporary art, establish and expand the contemporary art market, raise international recognition of contemporary artists, support young artists and foster human resources.
●Information sharing, survey research, making propositions
・Research and information gathering, of domestic and international market trends of art, and the laws and systems considering cultural policy, tax system and copyright.
・Exchanging information, cooperating, and making propositions to administrative organs related to cultural and artistic activities.
・Project of archiving information of contemporary artists and their works.
・Seminars and symposiums related to contemporary art are held regularly for both members and non-members.
● Exchange and cooperation
・Sharing awareness of the issues as an art dealer, discussing its solutions and implementing initiatives.
・Cooperating and strengthening relationships with domestic and overseas art galleries and industry groups.
・Looking to exchange with experts of various fields through the association, in addition to mutual network of members.
